Our Equipment policy outlines the responsibilities of all members and volunteers, as well as the Group Quartermaster, with regards to the use, storage and replacement of equipment belonging to the Group.
Equipment Policy
This policy should be read in conjunction with POR 13.2 (Property and Equipment).
- The Group owns a set of equipment that is used for the programme, activities that we plan, and general Scouting purposes.
- To support the running of camps, activities and for other general Scouting purposes, the Executive Committee is responsible for:
- Ensuring that sufficient equipment, and funding for sufficient equipment, is made available.
- Ensuring that equipment used by the Group is adequate, appropriate and suitable to support the activities.
- Ensuring that equipment owned, hired or borrowed by the Group is protected and maintained, and insured adequately, while in storage, in transit, at camp and on expeditions.
- Ensuring, where necessary, that leaders using the equipment have received adequate training on how to check, use and store the equipment safely, and hold the appropriate permits where required.
